The Valley of 1000 Hills is located between Pietermaritzurg
and Durban and passing through this area is the Umgeni River where
it the Meunduzi River (Duzi River). Well known for the annual
Duzi Canoe Marathon.
The area is named after the thousands of hills which surround
the Umgeni River, which eminates from the Drakensberg Mountains
and ending up at the Indian Ocean.
