The area know as the Helderberg is an area located 70km east of Cape Town and linked by the N2 highway which travels from east to west. The towns of Strand and Gordon’s Bay well know for their white sandy beaches and sleepy pace of life. Both towns are located on the eastern arm of False Bay opposite the “Sleeping Giant “of Table Mountain. Somerset West the largest of the three towns within the Helderberg is known for it wide selection of good quality shops, restaurants and a springboard to South Africa’s wine lands. Some of the popular towns within the Overberg region are Hermanus (Well known for the annual visits of the Southern Right Whales and the festivals that go with it.), Swellendam, a town with typical Cape Dutch architecture and the ambience of yester year. Another destination in the Overberg is the Cape Agulus, the geographical most southern point of South Africa.
