Map/Directions to The Green Acorn Guest House Directions: From Johannesburg:
Follow the N3 to Villiers, then take the R26 (Villiers, Frankfort, Reitz, Bethlehem) Turn-off and keep on that road to Bethlehem. In Bethlehem, turn right at the first intersection after the Wimpy.
From Pretoria:
Follow the N1 to the N3 split. Follow the N3 to Villiers (past Alberton & Heidelberg).
Then take the R26 (Villiers, Frankfort, Reitz, Bethlehem) Turn-off and keep on that road to Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem, turn right at the first intersection after the Wimpy.
From Bethlehem:
Keep on this road until the robot with Kentucky Fried Chicken on your left. Turn left (into Commissioner Street) and keep going out of Bethlehem (R26).
Continue for about 50km to Fouriesburg. By-pass Fouriesburg and drive about another 50km to Ficksburg.
From Pretoria:
Follow the N1 signs to Johannesburg/Bloemfontein until the Johannesburg / Bloemfontein split. Continue with N1 following Vereeniging/VanderBijl/Bloemfontein signs.
From Johannesburg:
Follow the Vereeniging/VanderBijl/Bloemfontein signs on the N1, through Grasmere Toll Plaza. Continue with N1 following Kroonstad signs.
At Kroonstad, look out for:
1. Bethlehem turnoff. Take this turnoff and follow the route to Steynsrus. Bypass Steynsrus and continue on to T-Junction. Turn left towards Senekal.
Or:
2. Ventersburg turnoff (quite a while after Bethlehem off-ramp).
Take this turnoff and follow the route to Ventersburg.
Bypass Ventersburg and continue on to T-Junction.
Both: At T-Junction turn left to Senekal (right to Marquard). Pass through Senekal on the main road and continue straight until the turning to the Left towards Rosendal. Continue for ±45kms to Rosendal. Bypass Rosendal and continue on to the T-Junction (±35kms). Turn right to Ficksburg.
When approaching Ficksburg, look out for the slip-way to your left. Turn left to Ficksburg, over the railway bridge and take the next road to the right (Engen Truck-Stop on the left and Golf Course on the right) into Ficksburg. This is McCabe Street.
Drive straight on until you get to the 3rd Stop street. This is a 4-way stop where Fontein Str crosses McCabe Str. The Police station is on the left hand corner, McBride’s House on the opposite right hand corner, and The Lemon Cottage on the right hand corner. Turn right into Fontein Str.
The Green Acorn is situated on the 3rd property on the left hand side.
