Description:This hospitable home is situated in Scottburgh’s Freeland Park, 9 Edgerton Road, just off exit 110 on the N2, direction Scottburgh.
The accommodation comprises of en suite rooms with own entrance. Large TV with M-Net, ceiling fan, fridge, private outdoor living space, braai facilities and extra large swimming pool.
One self-catering unit. Children welcome.
The house offers an impressive seaview and is also overlooking a beautiful park. It is within walking distance of the beach and a 3 minute drive from Scottburgh, its shops, restaurants and cinemas. Four fine golf courses are nearby, they are Selbourne Golf Course, Scottburgh, Umkomaas and Umdoni Golf Courses.
If you enjoy scuba diving, there is ample opportunity to join dives off the Aliwal Shoal. Boats leave Scottburgh, Umkomaas and Rocky Bay regularly for this purpose, there are also boats available for deep sea fishing. Crocworld is only 3 km away.
Durban is close enough for an evening of fun, entertainment and even gambling which is also available at the Wild Coast Sun. All accommodation has its own private entrance and bathroom facilities en suite, ceiling fan and TV with M-Net.
There is a large swimming pool in the garden.
The beach besides made up of golden sand has a large area under lawn. It is in a lovely bay that is protected by shark nets and is daily examined by personal employed by the KZN Sharks board, which is an Institution unique in the world. There are lifeguards in attendance during daylight hours. There are also lovely rock pools, which make for interesting observation of sea life. There is also a saltwater swimming pool situated at the beach and also a waterslide for the young at heart. Not far from Scottburgh there are a number of tidal pools which are popular with the elderly.
Activities:
During June and July one may experience the famous sardine run. This is reputedly the greatest shoal on earth and besides beaching thousands of sardines it brings with it dolphins, sharks and whales which may be observed from vantage points. Easter weekend is the Annual Barracouta fishing competition hosted by Pennington which is together with Scottburgh and Umzinto part of the Umdoni municipality. This continues for the whole weekend with a number of different activities for those not fishing.
In December Scottburgh hosts the annual Mardi Gras which offers a variety of entertainment.
