Description:The Black Eagle Retreat is situated in the picturesque Elands River Valley in the shadow of the Drakensberg mountains and surrounded by the stunning scenery and attractions of Mpumalanga.
We have four lakeside wooden chalets, three of them have two bedrooms and a bathroom and the other has one bedroom with an ensuite.
2 of the comfortable chalets are situated overlooking the dam surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Elands Valley. Each chalet is equipped for self catering and includes bedrooms, bathroom, living area, a kitchen area with a fridge, a stoep and a braai. Firewood is provided and we sell charcoal, braai packs and ice.
Crockery, cutlery and bedding is provided but please bring your own towels.
There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy in our 140 hectares including Eagles which are nesting here.
At the retreat you will find "The Eagle's Nest" pub serving delicious home cooked food (steak egg & chips R50) and ice cold drinks all day. There is big screen DSTV for sport.
Here you can enjoy a BBQ/braai, bass and trout fishing, Hiking, Biking, birdwatching or just plain and simple relaxation. We offer excursions to attractions such as Kruger Park, Pilgrims Rest, Nelspruit etc.
We can also arrange for guests to go horse riding locally. We are a very friendly family run business and we will do all we can to ensure you that you have a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay.
There are many activities close by including horse riding, rock climbing & abseiling, hiking, Sudwala caves & Dinosaur Park and Nelspruit is less than an hour away with the Riverside mall and casino and the famous Botanical.

R110.00 pppn sharing in the chalets (children under 12 R60)
R150.00 pppn sharing in the cottage (children under 12 R80)
The rate for the chalets is R160 per person per night
sharing (with children under 12 half price and no charge
for children under 3).
In addition we have a cottage in a very private location
with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which can sleep 6 at
the rate of R200 per person per night sharing.
